It is almost the same as the left-endpoint approximation, but now the heights of the rectangles are determined by the function values at the right of each subinterval. Rule: Right-Endpoint Approximation WebThis method gives the Riemann Integral approximation, which is ∫ a b f ( x) d x ≈ ∑ i = 0 n − 1 h f ( x i), or ∫ a b f ( x) d x ≈ ∑ i = 1 n h f ( x i), depending on whether the left or right endpoint is chosen. As with numerical differentiation, we want to characterize how the accuracy improves as h gets small.
