WebOct 4, 2005 · Hi, Is there any reason why i can't shorten the wire that hangs down from a Ceiling Pendant from about 6" to about 2" or 3"? I have an odd sloping Ceiling on my landing which makes the ceiling quite low so i wanted the light fitting to be nearer the ceiling. I can't use a Battenholder type of fitting because of the slope and even an angled one looks odd.
